The International Cricket Council has launched the Cricket World Cup 2027 ticket ballot, and fans from all across the world will be able to register beginning October 1, 2026. Fans have about seven weeks to submit their applications, as the admittance window remains open until November 21, 2026.
The official match schedule was presented at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town, coinciding with the ballot launch. The Men’s Cricket World Cup will return to Africa for the first time in 23 years, when South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia co-host the 14th edition.
From October 4 to November 21, 2027, 14 countries will compete in 57 matches over 12 sites. The Men’s Cricket World Cup will be hosted by three countries, the most geographically diverse on the African continent.
What is the process for the Cricket World Cup 2027 ticket ballot?
Voter registration is free and does not use a first-come, first-served basis. Every legal application received between October 1 and November 21, 2026, is equally weighted, so a fan who joins on the last day has the same chance as one who enrols on the first.
Each match is regarded as a distinct ballot submission, allowing supporters to apply for tickets to many events. Applicants may choose their preferred seating category at the time of application and request up to four tickets each match.
When the number of applications for a specific event exceeds the number of tickets available, a random drawing is used to determine which applicants proceed to purchase. Those chosen will be notified via email and given a deadline to complete the transaction. Fans can only purchase tickets if their entry is drawn; this does not guarantee tickets.
The voting is open to fans worldwide and includes matches scheduled in all three host countries, offering it a true global opportunity for cricket fanatics.
Why is the Cricket World Cup 2027 significant for African cricket?
The tournament’s hosting in Namibia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa marks a watershed moment in the continent’s sporting history.
